An exclusive characteristic of this museum is the open air display . The low lying single story building sprawled in sections interspersed with the court yard display of tulasi chaura, wooden chariot ,bird house ,haveli façade gives visitor a feel of walk through different parts of the country. The lattice jails ,folk and tribal paintings on the walls, Aiyannar Shrine and many other displays in open give the noble and rustic appearance in togetherness. Juxtaposition of the carved windows ,jambs and doors into the gallery entrances , terracotta roof tiles ,dense greenery with a robust bargad tree all lend a dynamic charm to the ambience as the part of open air display.
